Filling The Void
Creating a platform for young artist to gain exposure.
The Ask
Humanities and arts haven't been very popular in the Guyanese society. In fact, the career path of an artist is burdened with multiple culture stigmas. Filling the Void seeks to showcase the talent of upcoming young artists to a local audience in order to reinvent the perception of what it means to be a creative.
The Process
Working with a team of event coordinators and artists, Filling The Void evolved from an art gallery to a red carpet event through the strategies and concepts that I contributed.
The Result
With 350+ attendees and 8 media representatives, 9 young creatives managed to gain a total of 40,000 impressions and multiple peices sold in an event that lasted 5 hours. Key Insight
To revive a dying community, heavy up with a luxurious event, a fresh breath of content, and enthusiastic faces to prove that the energy is there. We owned and branded that energy.
As the marketing and logistics chair, it was my job to take the event to the next level. Through efficient networking, communication, professionalism and a strong work ethic, the event became a successful buzzworthy story is now an annual occurence and art curation company.
This project required research, creative, and logistics and planning skills, in relation with a strong time management and assertion to ensure that specific elements were in place.
Being in the center of the creative, marketing, and media departments provided an immense amount of experience in event production, working with other businesses, ensuring full performance of the participants, and overall ensuring that the event was successful and profitable.
IThrough research, associating the event with prestigious elements that art once held seemed to be a key insight. With this, the event was elevated to a higher standard with the use of a red carpet, more media coverage, wine and cheese catering, and a live band, overall creating an entire experience unique to this brand.
